Throttle Cable, Yerf-dog yard karts with hole in throttle collar

This is an after-market collection of parts to reconstruct the 36000700 Yerfdog throttle cable.  Please examine picture carefully before ordering.  This is for the yard kart style Yerf-dog -- NOT the dune buggy with the 150cc or larger engine.

Instructions (qualified mechanics 18 or over, only):  Clip the barrel off the end of the inner cable (already removed in picture).  Remove the inner cable by pulling on the ball end and set it aside, taking care not to damage the cut-off end.

Insert the retainer through the hole in the frame and secure with a 1/4-28 nut (not included -- it's probably the same nut as was on the old cable).  Insert one end of the inner cable into the hole in the retainer and the other end into the cable clamp on the engine (trim with cutters if too long).  Insert the cut end of the cable (re-cut if necessary to eliminate damaged end) into the hole in the kart's throttle link, then into the retainer and through the outer cable until the cable is tight.

Slip the engine cable stop onto the cut end of the cable, and then slide it into the slot on the engine's throttle.  Gently tug on the cut end of the wire to make sure everything is tight, and tighten the engine cable stop.  Trim the excess, allowing about 2" for adjustments.

Depress gas pedal.  Throttle on engine should "bottom out" at the same time as the pedal.  If not, adjust the cable where it goes through the cable clamp on the engine.

Prop the rear of the kart up with something stable, such as jack stands, and start the engine to make sure it idles without engaging the rear wheel(s).
